Many people ask the question, “What kind of ebook should I write?” Well there’s really no correct answer to that question because it all depends upon what type of writing you want to do. As for myself, I couldn’t write a novel if my life depended upon it. However, that’s because the type of writing that I am known best for is instructional material, such as the how-to category, or the Internet marketing category. Novels aren’t my cup of tea, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy reading them. I just don’t do well writing them.
However, you may be different. Novels may be your cup of tea, and you may be very good at writing those types of books. Just because you want to write an ebook doesn’t mean that the ebook has to be Internet marketing related. You just have to decide what type of writing you really want to do, and you have to write what you can write best. I really can’t give you much advice here because I don’t know you and what you’re interests are, or what you love to write about. Everybody is different and everyone loves to write in their own way.
The reason I love writing instructional and Internet marketing material is because that’s my passion. That’s what I love to deal with, and the same goes for you. If you love dealing with charactors, and stories, then novels may be right up your alley. However, if you’re technical minded and you love things such as computers, electronics, programming languages and such, then instructional, or how-to material may be your fancy, rather than novels.
It all depends upon your particular niche because whatever your niche is, there is your writing style as well. There are sports writers, medical writers, novelists, and so many other kinds of writers out there, all writing in their niches. So it is really up to you as to what type of writing you want to get into for a business. Like I said, as for me, I love the more technical and Internet marketing side of writing. Therefore, that’s why you’re reading this material because this is my particular niche. I love to instruct and teach people how to do something. However, that may not be you. You may not have the nack to teaching people how to do something, but your niche may be somewhere else other than Internet marketing, or technical writing.
Let me give you a prime example here. My fiance doesn’t do technical writing of any kind. She deals with hummingbirds, so her niche is hummingbirds, and she’s doing quite well in that particular niche. I would never ask her to write a tutorial on creating a web site, or even a tutorial on how to create an ebook because that’s not her cup of tea. However, the same goes for me. I couldn’t write an ebook on hummingbirds because I don’t really know all that much about them. Oh sure, I may know more than the average joe about hummingbirds, but not enough to begin writing about them. That’s because hummingbirds aren’t my niche, technical material is. So as you can see here, everybody has their specialty when it comes to writing. Everything doesn’t have to be about making money online, or about Internet marketing, and that’s where so many people get lost because they think that if you have an Internet business, then the business should be about the Internet and about Internet marketing. Internet marketing covers so many teritories. It also spans so many different niches. Internet marketing is not really a stand-alone niche because it really covers so much more than just making money online, or about marketing in general. Internet marketing can be done in any niche and with any type of product.
So the best advice that I can give you here as to what you should write and what type of writing you should do, I would say, follow your heart and your passions. That’s really the best determining factor that should tell you what type of writing you should get into.
